Cooperativa Sociale Iside

Iside is a group of women psychologists specialized in strategies against intimate violence.

Iside works closely with services involved in the fight of violence against women and children.

Our job aims primarily at planning and delivering interventions tailored to meet women and children’s individual needs.

Iside runs:

  • 2 Women’s Refuges (in partnership with Venice Anti Violence Centre and Marzoli Foundation)
  • 2 drop-in support services (called Punto di Ascolto: S.O.S Violenza) within the A&E Dept of SS Giovanni e Paolo Hospital (Venice) and Dell’Angelo Hospital (Mestre)
  • ‘1522 National Helpline’ (Venice area) to support women victims of gender-based violence

Moreover, Iside organizes and deliveries a large variety of cultural activities in order to promote a gender-sensitive culture.

We run educational school projects, deliver domestic violence workshops and training courses for different audiences, give talks and seminars on gender issues.

Every year, in collaboration with the University of Padua, Iside funds the Marta Cimento scholarship to promote gender-oriented studies.

Since 2004, Iside has been member of the Venice Anti Violence Network as well as several other international networks.

Our partner are mostly voluntary organisations, municipalities, universities.

In addition, Iside participates in national and international projects on gender violence, such as the Ministerial Project ‘DUG, Diritti Umani di Genere (Gender’s Human Rights)’ which aims at implementing a Veneto Region Anti Violence Network, and the Daphne Programme ‘EMPoWER - Empowerment of women environment research’.
